The Right Judgement.

The murderers of Ahmaud Arbery have been sentenced to life.

Father and son Gregory and Travis McMichael have been sentenced to life in an American court and will die in prison, whilst their neighbour William Bryan was sentenced to life but has been given the glimmer of hope of parole after 15 years because he showed remorse. The Judge has more humanity than me….none of them would be getting out.

Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed in Brunswick, Georgia, U.S. on February 23, 2020,one year on
Ahmaud Arbery

They murdered this young man as he went jogging past. They used the excuse that they had witnessed him earlier acting suspiciously, and even if he was…..what right does that give them to murder him? If you see someone acting suspiciously….ring the Police by all means…but don’t murder him.

They murdered him because they are racist and they are evil and whilst life behind bars is the right thing, it is a terrible pity they could not be given the death penalty as they executed him in cold blood.

My heart and sympathy go out to the family of Ahmaud Arbery and I hope they can now find some peace in knowing that his killers are where they belong and behind bars, and taken out of the community as they will not be missed with their vile racism and murderous ways.

‘Taking the law into your own hands is a dangerous endeavor. Ultimately with regard to the murder of Ahmaud Arbery it holds us all accountable. At a minimum his death should force us to consider expanding our definition of what a neighbor may be and how we treat them.  I believe that assuming the worst in others, we show our worst character. Assuming the best in others is always the best course of action. Maybe those are the grand lessons of this case,’ the judge said.

There were celebrations outside the court as the sentences were read aloud and now may Ahmaud be allowed to rest in peace and his family allowed at long last to grieve the sad loss of their son.
