Why does my cat’s affection seem sinister?

I have recently taken in another rescue cat…and she is beautiful and mischievous….and full of fun…but she is almost like the hammer house of horror cat….. She keeps killing things and dropping them on my kitchen carpet….today’s tally is a bird, a grasshopper and a mouse……urgh…. She’s not even hungry as she gets 3 meals
